Prehistoric Building Techniques

In the autumn of 2013, the Center launched a project of reconstruction of a prehistoric wooden house. The reconstruction was performed on the basis of existing archaeological remains and through the application of theoretically considered prehistoric architectural techniques. The project goals were aimed at the acquisition of practical knowledge and testing of construction techniques that could have been used in prehistoric times. The gained practical experiences and theoretical knowledge will lead towards better understanding of the construction techniques used on wood and towards creating the basis for a clearer understanding and further exploration of prehistoric building techniques.
